Lakeside Family Fitness is OPEN for individual work-outs during regular open gym hours. Fitness classes are allowed to resume starting January 16th, 2021 per most recent Governor’s order. 

We will be posting a schedule of our fitness classes shortly.

In the meantime, we are offering:

  • Zoom online fitness classes
  • free online workouts performed by our licensed fitness instructor Juanita Garza and NASM Certified Personal Trainer Ethan Flanery to keep you in shape while in quarantine.

All current gym plus members are invited to attend Zoom classes free of charge. Please message us on facebook or call 231-873-3566 and ask for the link to Zoom class. Others are asked to pay $8.00 through PayPal link on our website and specify the class they would like to attend. We will email the link to Zoom class after the payment is received.

Cardio intensity of each class is marked under the class description. Single flame means the lowest intensity and five flame correspondents with high intensity class.

We are very excited to extend our Yoga class offerings with HOT Yoga.

Hot Yoga offers a lively practice in our 87 degree, climate-controlled studio- the only one in Oceana County!  A combination of gentle and challenging postures are made accessible through the use of props and modifications.  Students connect breath and fluid movement to a unique music playlist, appropriate for new and advanced students alike. When you’re ready to get sweaty, try this fun, flow-based class designed to help you grow stronger, more flexible and ultimately more balanced. Beginners are encouraged to try this unique style and temperatures are kept manageable for comfort.  Respectfully offered with attention to blood pressure, hydration and student’s limitations, in a lighthearted atmosphere.

A new exciting class brought to you by Juanita Garza, a certified Pound Fitness Instructor. Created by two female drummers, the POUND workout fuses cardio interval training with drumming to provide a challenging, heart-pumping workout. Anyone who thrives off the group fitness environment or needs loud music to stay motivated needs try this class ASAP.

It moves fast: From start to finish, lively, heart-pumping movements and upbeat tunes keep the workout feeling fresh. There’s no holding an uncomfortable pose for an extended period of time; the class is always moving, always changing, and always pushing the body to its limits. Plus, the time flies by! It moves from warmup to cooldown in just 45 minutes.

It’s a full-body workout: While certain group fitness classes tend to target particular areas of the body, POUND offers a full-body workout and targets common trouble spots. A huge part of the class is performed in a squat position. The constant up-and-down drumming targets your inner and outer thighs, butt, and core. And those drumsticks aren’t just for show; at one-fourth pound per stick and a little shorter than the standard length, they’re perfectly designed to maximize your arm workout.

You’ll blow off steam: After a long day, there are few things more exhilarating than grabbing a pair of drumsticks and being able to POUND out your stress. Intense, full body cardio work-out. Class is a variation of Interval Training using several work-out stations.

This class will provide an intense arm and lower body workout. It is great for ALL fitness levels and in no way will it get you “bulky”- quite the opposite! Mixed Martial Arts
